KeepInTouch Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

Overview

KeepInTouch is designed with privacy as a core principle. The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to the developer, and it makes no network requests at all. Everything you do stays on your device.

1. Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored exclusively on your device:

  • Last-contact dates: saved as a custom date field inside your native Contacts, for the people you choose to track.
  • App preferences: your two reminder thresholds and other settings, stored in the device’s UserDefaults.
  • Widget snapshot: to power the optional home screen widget, a small snapshot of the most urgent contacts (name, days since last contact, and profile image if available) is cached in a private App Group container shared between the app and its widget. This container never leaves your device.

None of this data is transmitted to the developer or to any server.

2. Data Never Collected

The developer does not collect:

  • Your name, email address, or any other identifying information.
  • Usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind.
  • Location data.
  • Your calendar, photos, or any device data other than the Contacts you explicitly track.

3. Contacts

With your permission, KeepInTouch reads from your native Contacts the names, phone numbers, and profile photos of the people you add to your tracking list, in order to display them and calculate how long it has been since you last reached out. When you mark someone as contacted, KeepInTouch writes the new last-contact date back into that contact in the native Contacts app. Contacts access is required for the App to function; you can revoke it at any time in system Settings.

4. Notifications

KeepInTouch schedules local notifications on your device to remind you when a contact passes one of your reminder thresholds. These notifications are generated entirely on-device; no notification is sent through any remote server. Notification permission is optional and can be revoked at any time.

5. Third-Party Services and Network

KeepInTouch does not make any network requests. It contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party tracking libraries. It relies only on Apple’s built-in frameworks (Contacts, UserNotifications, and WidgetKit).

6. Platforms

KeepInTouch is an iOS app for iPhone and iPad. It does not use iCloud or any Apple cloud service.

7. Data Deletion

Your data is always in your control. You can remove any person from your tracking list within KeepInTouch, or delete the App entirely, which removes its preferences and widget snapshot. The last-contact dates written into your Contacts remain in the native Contacts app and can be edited or removed there.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The updated policy will be available on this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
